The Complete Padel Court Maintenance Guide: Tailored for Coastal, Desert, and Indoor Climates

A Padel court is a significant investment, typically designed to last 10-15 years. However, the lifespan of even the highest quality padel courts—like our hot-dip galvanized series—depends heavily on the local environment. A court in a humid coastal city requires a completely different maintenance strategy than one in a dry desert.

Based on LDK Padel's extensive global installation experience, we have compiled this specialized maintenance guide to help club owners protect their assets in any scenario.

1. The Coastal Challenge: Salt & Humidity

Risk Factor: High salinity accelerates oxidation (rust); humidity affects glass transparency.

Recommended Models: LDK-PD03 Reinforced Panoramic (for structural stability against sea breezes).

  • Structure Care:

    • Fresh Water Rinse: In coastal areas, salt mist settles on the steel beams. We recommend rinsing the structure with fresh water monthly to remove salt deposits.

    • Zinc Spray Check: Inspect for any scratches on the coating. Although our padel courts use high-standard powder coating, accidental scratches during play should be sealed with cold zinc spray immediately to prevent rust from spreading.

  • Glass Care:

    • Humidity can cause algae or mold growth at the bottom edges of the glass. Clean the neoprene gaskets regularly to prevent moisture trapping.

2. The Desert & Windy Challenge: Sand & Abrasion

Risk Factor: Sand accumulation wears down turf fibers; strong winds put pressure on glass.

Recommended Models: LDK-PD03 Reinforced Panoramic (Stronger wind resistance).

  • Turf Maintenance:

    • De-sanding: If you are in a sandy region (like the Middle East), external sand can mix with the specialized silica sand. This creates an abrasive "sandpaper" effect that cuts turf fibers. Deep cleaning and sieving of the turf are required every 6 months.

    • Fiber Hydration: In extremely dry heat, turf fibers can become brittle. Lightly misting the turf with water before opening the club in the morning can improve elasticity and reduce friction burns.

3. The Rainy & Outdoor Challenge: Drainage & Water

Risk Factor: Waterlogging ruins the turf foundation; rain interrupts play.

Recommended Models: LDK-PD07 Panoramic with Integrated Roof or LDK-PD08 Independent Roof.

  • Roof Maintenance:

    • For models with roofs, check the tent tension annually. Ensure the drainage gutters are not blocked by leaves, so water flows away from the court foundation.

  • Turf Drainage:

    • Ensure the drainage holes in the concrete base are not clogged. If water pools on the turf for more than 30 minutes after rain, the silica sand may need to be redistributed.

4. The Indoor Challenge: Dust & Sweat

Risk Factor: Lack of rain cleaning; sweat accumulation; dust.

Recommended Models: LDK-PD01 Panoramic (Aesthetics focus).

  • Glass Polishing:

    • Without rain to wash the exterior, indoor glass accumulates a film of dust. Clean both sides bi-weekly for optimal visibility.

  • Sweat Corrosion:

    • Indoor courts often have less airflow. Sweat dripping onto the net posts or mesh fencing can be corrosive. Wipe down "high-touch" areas like the net post winders daily.

General Maintenance Checklist

Regardless of your location, these steps are mandatory to maintain the quality associated with LDK Padel:

  1. Redistribute Sand (Monthly):

Use a stiff brush to redistribute silica sand. Players naturally kick sand away from the service line. Sweeping it back ensures the turf fibers remain upright.

  2. Check Lighting Bolts (Quarterly):

Vibration from play can loosen bolts over time. Check the anchor bolts of the LED light pillars to ensure safety.

  3. Net Tension (Weekly):

Maintain the net height at 88cm at the center and 92cm at the sides.

Conclusion

Whether you are building a Panoramic Court in a city center or a Roofed Court in a rainy region, maintenance is key to longevity. At LDK, we engineer our courts with maintenance in mind—using anti-corrosion materials and durable tempered glass.
